Vanyo Martial Arts Summer Kickboxing Smoker

September 13th marks the second Vanyo Martial Arts Smoker for 2013.  This time the turnout will be better than the first smoker when Khalil Khalil  was the sole representative of GR.  Five GR warriors will travel to Strongsville to glove up.  Make the trip with us and support the GR Team!

Jon Reeves vs TBA 140lbs
Khalil Khalil  vs TBA 125lbs
George Comer vs TBA 165lbs
Russ Herbert vs TBA 205lbs
Paul Compton vs TBA 150lbs
Tim Stafford vs TBA 150lbs

Smokers are for fun and experience.  The results are not recorded, not part of the fighter’s record and Smoker wins will not qualify a GR member for the Fight Team.  Members use them to get experience and practice outside the familiar surroundings of the academy.  Fight team members use them the same way.  Smoker fights are a pro tool available to every member of the academy.

Compton, Comer and Burbol Fight at Caged Vengeance

GR hits NAAFS with full force when three fighters throw down at Caged Vengeance in downtown Cleveland on February 18^th.

Paul Compton, George Comer and John Burbol will stand up for GriffonRawl

145 lbs – Paul Compton 5-4 vs Antonio Castillo Jr. 3-3 (Instigator)
155 lbs – George Comer 0-1 vs Ryan Shank 0-0 (Charleston, WV)
185 lbs – John Burbol 5-4 vs John Antanitis 5-3 (Penn Hill MMA)

Antonio Castillo is moving fast with 6 fights in 13 months. His losses seem linked to taking too little time between fights. He raised his record to 3-3 with a solid decision win over Kevin Rothacker in last November.

Comer's opponent is 5-0 as an amateur and fights at 170 and 185. He makes his pro debut at 155. Expect him to bring it.

John Antanitis returns to the cage after a 14 month hiatus with a 5-3 record. He's another one whose losses seem linked to shorts rests between fights.
