Relson Gracie Jiu-Jitsu Seminar

Relson Gracie himself will be holding a two hour Jiu-Jitsu seminar on Monday, July 21st in lieu of regular scheduled BJJ class. The cost is $50 and gi, no-gi and MMA ground fighting techniques will be covered. Private lessons are available all day Monday...please see Jeff Starr or John Strmac for scheduling.Please make every effort to attend. In order to keep Relson coming back and improving our school's overall reputation and talent, we need to have this event well attended. Hope to see everyone there!

Superior Cage Fighting "Round 2"

"Round 2" of the Quaker Fight Series returns to Sheffield Village, Ohio on FRIDAY, July 11, 2008. In "Round 1" Team GriffonRawl was well represented and "Round 2" will be no different.In the night's main event, Tony Groys will be facing Knockout Factory's standout lightweight, Carl Kettle for the Superior Cage Fighting Lightweight Title. NAAFS "Columbus Night of Pain 3"

The NAAFS returns to Columbus for the third time on Friday, yes Friday, June 27, 2008. Four GriffonRawl gladiators will be making their way to Columbus to compete!AJ Carl (3-1) will be taking on Chuck Parrish (1-1, Team Havoc) at 145lbs, Bryon McCrosky (2-1) will face Ryan Victory (1-3, Team DNA) at 170lbs, Landon Khakdoust (2-0) is up against Scott Alfer (2-1, Erie, PA) at 185lbs and Miguel Defina (3-1) is pitted against JJ Rey (2-1, Team Bullrider) at 185lbs.Tickets for this event can be purchased in advance by seeing anyone of the above mentioned fighters. Although it's a 2.5 hour trip to Columbus, let's plan on getting together car-pools and make GR's presence known in support of our teammates!

NAAFS "Fight Nite in the Flats 4"

The NAAFS (North American Allied Fight Series) is regarded as the region's largest MMA promotion. Television contracts with Sports Time Ohio and GTV have given the NAAFS "name recognition."Hyped as the biggest event in NAAFS history, Plain Dealer Pavilion in downtown Cleveland will showcase the region's biggest names at the amateur and professional level.Team GriffonRawl will be represented by two of her professionals, Team Captain Jason "Dynamite" Dent and Paul "Str8outta" Compton. Jason will be taking on the man who knocked out Torrance Taylor in :29 seconds for the NAAFS Pro Series Lightweight Title. Nick Sorg is known to be heavy handed, well conditioned and well rounded. Jason and Nick will be the main event of the evening.Paul, the 2008 NAAFS Amateur Lightweight Champion, will be taking on the 2007 NAAFS Amateur Lightweight Champion, Mike Nesto. Jiu-Jitsu Seminar with Robin Geisler

On Wednesday, May 28, 2008 at 7:30pm in lieu of the regular BJJ class, Team GriffonRawl will be hosting a Jiu-Jitsu seminar. Robin Geisler, who received his black belt from Relson Gracie in 2006, will be conducting the two hour seminar. Robin will also be available throughout the day for private lessons. Privates may be done one-on-one or with a small group.QUICK BIO:-Started training in Gracie Jiu-jitsu in 1994.-Competed in the first Gracie Jiu-jitsu tournament in Ohio. -Competed in every Gracie Nationals and Gracie/Arnolds Worlds and won or medaled in every one. -2005 Gracie/Arnold Classic Worlds professional brown belt division winner.-Took 2nd place behind teammate Daniel Morias in the 2007 Gracie Worlds No-gi Professional Division.-NAGA superfight competitor.-2nd place 2004 Ohio Pro-am professional division.-3rd place 2007 EGO middle weight tournament.-Most recently, 2008 Pan-American Championships Heavyweight Masters Silver medalist.The seminar will focus on both Gi and No-Gi techniques as well as MMA ground fighting. Located at 4900 Transportation Drive, Sheffield Oh, 44054, this show will have a large number of GriffonRawl warriors set for action. Tony Groys (3-1) and John Strmac (4-2) are set for action as the featured bouts going for the 155lb and 145lb titles, respectively.
